My friends and I have been doing a monthly potluck for two years. I have been putting together a cookbook and it is just about ready to go to print... but I need a title!
Right now the title is:
The Gourmet Potluck
Two Year's Worth of Fabulous
Food, Drinks, and Memories
The way the program works (Tastebook) you get a short title and then a longer two-line tagline. I think what I have right now is boring, but it is about the right number of characters. Any suggestions?
Also you get a dedication page. Right now I have these two quotes on there:
To long-lasting friendships, free-flowing alcohol, and delicious food.
"That without experimentation, a willingness to ask questions and try new things, we shall surely become static, repetitive, moribund." - Anthony Bourdain
"In the end, all journeys are spiritual. So go off the main road. Be givers of hospitality and gracious takers of it too. Accept the serendipitous moments of life because, when all is said and done, you may find out that they were not serendipitous at all. And know that faith is as real as bread broken among friends. What you believe will take you far on your journey. If you search carefully, you will find good food all along the way." - Alton Brown
I don't know... the whole thing seems kind of impersonal and boring to me. At the same time, putting this together has been a lot of work and I'm running low on steam for the details.
Here is a copy of the drink menu my friend made for his portion of the dinner last night:
He is adorable. Also I ended up going with BBQ pork, corn griddle cakes, creamed kale, and black eyed peas. It was awesome.
