There is a difference between paid to write and writing for free. I expect writers who are paid to have better quality writing. Sometimes I feel on Gawkerverse paid writers use 1990s newgroups as their mentors, some on 1990s newsgroups were good writers and too many were bad. Io9.com seems to have the best writers, why I don't know. The content doesn't need to change but delivery its long overdue.
