So a billboard went up recently in Auburn, Alabama. Yes, that Auburn. WAR DAMN EAGLE and shit. It had all the things you would expect in a simple, charming ad.

Adorable children? Check.

Strong use of white and color? Check.

The text of Proverbs 22:6 from the King James Version of the Bible? Check.

Slightly larger text of a quote from Adolf Hitler? Ch..WHOA WAIT WHAT THE FUCK?!?

Yeah, seriously, this billboard in Alabama quoted Adolf Fucking Hitler. And not even by accident. It actually fucking attributed the quote to Hitler.

There are some people you just shouldn't quote on a billboard

Needless to say, not everybody in the Yellowhammer State thought having a billboard directly quoting the leader of the Nazi Party was something to have around. According to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, the billboard's purchasers, Life Savers Ministries (so many bad jokes I could make with that), took it down following the outcry. But the response did include a noted exclusion of the word "sorry":

"We are pulling the billboard and certainly never intended to cause confusion. ... Herbert Hoover would have been a far better one to quote when he said, 'Children are our most valuable resource,'" founder James Anderegg told the Ledger-Enquirer. "We are a children's organization and had honorable intentions and nothing less."

Yeah, Herbert Hoover probably would have been a better choice, James.

But, let's take our bets on what might happen next that could possibly match this level of stupid. My vote: A child nutrition advocacy organization quoting Jeffrey Dahmer.
