The Truth Is Out There: Your Favorite X-Files Episode

My thesis is on women in the horror genre, so I'm logging in a lot of hours watching the "Monster of the Week" episodes of The X-Files.

I remember watching this show with my parents as a kid, and how integral Scully was to my childhood. Scully is a skeptic, MD, and FBI agent. Scully is still who I want to be when I grow up. I'm thrilled to be writing about her academically.

Below are my top 4 episodes, I'd love to know yours!

1. "Home," Season 4, Episode 2.
The incest. The murder. A dead baby. Existential musings on motherhood from Scully. This episode is graphic and disturbing.

2. "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space,'" Season 3, Episode 20.
This episode had cameos galore. As a viewer, I also respected a show being able to laugh at itself in an episode that was truly humorous. Lord Kinbote may be my favorite alien that has ever appeared on the show.

3. "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose," Season 3, Episode 4.
Lemon meringue pie.

4. "X-Cops," Season 7, Episode 12.
This episode was shot as the show "COPS." The show jumped the shark, in my opinion, after this, but jeez, this episode is a gem.
