That even though we only knew her for a few minutes, really, over the scheme of things, Tracy seemed like a far better, nicer, and just all around more awesome person than Robin Scherbatzky. If the HIMYM staff didn't want us to be mad at the ending, they shouldn't have cast Cristin Milioti, who was just incredible in the role. The audience finally saw her, met her, fell in love with her and understood why she was perfect for Ted. The entire season felt like this message, "See, the journey was worth it after all - she was worth it." All of a sudden Ted didn't need grand gestures to win this woman, because they were actually right for each other. All he needed to do was to get up and talk to her, and it was sweet and touching and natural. The chemistry was there, and it felt right.

And then she's dead and Ted's over it, and hey, let's go back to Robin! And back to grand gestures and blue french horns! Robin, who over the past couple of years has become incredibly irritating, selfish, and unpleasant to watch. And back to gestures that the entire series seemed to show that you don't actually need to win the love of your life.

Next time cast someone who can't act, guys. Because your ultimate downfall was giving us a character I cared more about in less than half a season than one I knew for nine years. And don't try to sell me that it's stolen blue french horns that are the ultimate sign of love after you already gave me the real thing, and we watched it grow.
