What part of "dinner will be ready in literally 30 seconds" translates to "Oh good, now's a good time to go outside and chop some wood and build a goddamn bonfire!" ?????

Dinner has been ready, and starting to get cold, for 15 fucking minutes now. Because we couldn't have started doing this an hour ago when I said "I'm going to start dinner, should be ready in an hour"???

Why does this always happen? You tell people "dinner will be ready in 5 minutes," and they wait until you yell at them to turn off their damn computer because the 30, 20, 10 and 5 minute warnings apparently mean nothing.

I'm going to go eat dinner by myself now.
