Before he become the legendary comedy genius that he was, Pryor actually started out as a drummer in New York City night clubs in the early 1960’s and though he quickly moved into comedy, he also sang too even opening forNina Simone and Bob Dylan.

So here is a just recently rediscovered short film of Pryor singing the old classic song “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out” and you’ll see that among his many talents Pryor had an incredibly good, soulful voice.
