Okay, so I get that people have varying levels of comfort with technology. Folks who didn't grow up with computers may not easily adapt to all the quickly-changing stuff. (Or they may - I know plenty of older folks who are all over their tablets and iPhones and Star Trek communicators.) BUT. If you are functioning professional in a field where using computers and cellphones is simply a part of the job, please for the love of God GET OVER YOURSELF and learn how to use them.

At my job I am on the receiving end of lots of email (data gathering, compiling, sorting and analyzing, blah) from people who, granted, are trained and experienced in fields other than computers. But they aren't asked to program NORAD satellites. They're asked to enter information into a spreadsheet whose difficulty level is about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, and email that. Oh, and every now and then, maybe respond to a text (oooooh, futuristic communication!). And you would not believe the amount of whining I get about it.

"I hate computers!" Tough. It's part of life.

"I don't know how to do it!" You've had a shit ton of training. It's really not that hard.

"It's hard to find wifi!" We do not live in the outer reaches of Nowheresville. I reject this complaint.

I'm all out of patience with these special snowflakes who can't cope with normal, regular, unremarkable office practices that have been around for years now.
