So what is the issue exactly? People who aren't qualified going hunting? People hunting as a "status symbol" (does that happen???)? Liberal young people hunting?

Because I feel like that's what it's saying...and I just don't know how to feel about that. I'm a liberal young person. I garden, I can, and I've kept chickens (not bees - but I'd be down). I sort of got this stuff from my family; my grandpa is Native American and an old school woodsman, hunter and farmer. He's the one who taught me how to do many of these things. GreenHunk and I have been thinking about him going hunting (I'm not a good enough shot to hit anything) next year, because venison is delicious and healthy and cheaper than store-bought meat.

Why is it bad that sustainable eating habits are no longer confined to conservatives and older generations? I realize that I'm privileged to have the time and live in a place where I can grow, raise or make my own food, but that it also doesn't make me "better" than anyone. It's just my choice. I feel like this is really a pretty weird and judgmental article, and I can't even figure out why. What are they even mocking exactly? Am I missing something?
