"V for Vendetta" is such a dopey adolescent construct: the virtuous terrorist, the White Rose as a comic-book ninja Elrond. But there's John Hurt frothing at the mouth to watch, and we all have our bubble-gum favorites that trap us at midnight on a Friday night. And I have wine. What bad shows are we watching tonight, GT?

ETA: on the bright side, it leads me to googling the real White Rose and Sophie Scholl: "It is possibly the most spectacular moment of resistance that I can think of in the twentieth century... The fact that five little kids, in the mouth of the wolf, where it really counted, had the tremendous courage to do what they did, is spectacular to me. I know that the world is better for them having been there, but I do not know why."
