I have a problem. It's quite unusual and generally perceived to either be a) not a real problem because it's "such a nice one to have" or b) not a real problem in that it doesn't actually exist and that I am obviously making it up.

I almost never address it directly. Sometimes I give examples that might lead people to understand it but usually they don't. Sometimes when I am feeling very, very brave I go out on a limb and make a very apologetic statement that reveals it.

It invariably ends badly and just makes me want to cry. I'm sorry world, for having a problem that you think is so irrelevant, but I really want to say that sometimes everyone denying it all the time leaves a person feeling so isolated they sit staring at her computer and shaking with sadness.
