I Had Some Really Awesome Noodles Today

I work in midtown NYC, and I kept walking past this "Wok to Walk" place and peering in, looking at the menu, etc. The idea is Asian street food: you pick your noodle or rice base, pick your proteins or veggies, add any toppings, then choose a base sauce to go on it all. Prices start at $5.50 for just the base noodles, but if you want more stuff it escalates pretty quickly, so I was a little leery. But today I was in the noodley vein, and decided to just go for it.

Here's what I had: egg noodles (with a base of mixed veggies), plus chucken, bok choy and the "pepper mix," with the garlic-black pepper sauce they call "Saigon."

Readers, it was very close to amazing. The chicken was moist, the veggies were fresh and crunchy, there was a gentle but persistent amount of heat (pepper sauce/sriracha is available free to augment), and just a really delicious box o' goodness. Overpriced? Certainly. A box o' takeout noodles really shouldn't set you back twelve bucks. But this is midtown, and if it's good enough, people will come. And I ate half and will eat the other half for breakfast tomorrow.
