I've recently purchased these three lip products.
Nuxe Reve de Miel, a perennial "beauty blogger" favorite which gets rave reviews for its lip healing properties. It retails at Shoppers in Canada for about $17.99.
NARS lipstick in "Dolce Vita," a classic MLBB (my lips but better) shade used to enhance your natural lip color and give it a bit more "depth." Sephora in Canada carries it for $30.00.
and NYX Butter Gloss in "Vanilla Cream Pie." Also raved about by gurus as a great bargain product for girls just getting into makeup. Target sells it here in Canada for about $6.99.
I am an adult. I should know that marketing is silly and at the end of the day one product's combination of wax, dye and silicates shouldn't be that much better than another's. So why do I still feel so gloomy and annoyed about the fact that out of the three, the NYX Butter Gloss is by far the best? The Reve de Miel feels like I'm spreading organic peanut butter on my mouth and made my lips way drier. The NARS lipstick is fine, but why am I paying $30.00 for something that makes my lips look almost the same as they do for free?
But for $6.99 I can get a cute pink shade that smells good. Why isn't this the only amount I spend on lip products?
Why am I this easily duped?
