ETA: Content deleted as multiple comments have stated that sharing anecdotes about realizing past ignorance is an act of aggression/diminishing to people who have been the victims of racism/causing indirect experience of racism in people of color who did not experience said anecdote directly. I don't question those assertions, I am listening, and accepting as true that it was selfish and insensitive to share my introspection. The title was intended to be tongue-in-cheek because I do NOT think of my thoughts as essential to others' understanding, representative of anything other than my own opinion/experience, or particularly enlightening.
